Here is a selection of delicious banana bread recipes, and they all taste great, so take your pick.

The only requirement for making banana bread is that you use very ripe bananas.

Once the skins start to develop freckles and the fruits are just a little too soft for pleasurable snacking, then it’s banana bread time.

Letting your bananas ripen even longer,  until the skins are black and the fruit falls apart when you peel it, will make your bread even more strongly banana-flavored and richer.

How To Make Delicious Banana Bread Recipes

Delicious Banana Bread Recipe No. 1

You Will Need:

125g butter

2 eggs

2 tsp Baking Powder

4 tbsp milk mixed with 1 small tsp Bicarb

1 cup sugar

2 cups flour

1 tsp vanilla essence

3 – 4 ripe bananas

pinch salt


  • Cream marg and sugar.
  • Add eggs and beat well.
  • Sift flour, salt, and baking powder and add to mixture.
  • Beat well.
  • Add mashed bananas and milk/bicarb mix.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Mix well.

Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 hour until golden brown.

You can also make muffins using this delicious banana bread recipe.

Delicious Banana Bread Recipe No. 2

You Will Need:

Cooking spray

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla escens

3 medium bananas, very ripe

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)


  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and arrange the rack in the bottom third of the oven.
  • Line a 8×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper letting the ecess hang over the long sides to form a sling. Spray the inside with spray and cook.
  • If using nuts toast them in the oven for ten minutes as the oven is preheating.
  • Cream the butter and the sugar.
  • Add the eggs and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  • Mix in the milk and vanilla.
  • Mash your bananas into the mixture. If you like your banana bread smooth, then mash separately before adding to your mixture.
  • Add flour baking powder and salt and mix with a spatula.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until golden on top.
  • Leave to cool in pan for ten minutes before removing to cool on a cake rack.

This recipe can also be used to make banana muffins. You can freeze banana bread for up to three months.

Delicious Banana Bread Recipe No. 3

You Will Need:

3 medium bananas mashed

1/2 cup mayonnaise or dressing

1 egg

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cups sugar

1/2 cup chopped pecans


  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
  • In a bowl mix together mashed bananas, mayo and egg. In a separate bowl combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and pecans.
  • Add flour mixture to wet mixture and stir until combined. Note: The mixture will be very thick, do not over mix
  • Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  • Bake 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove from pan and allow to cool completely.
